Oil and Gas
AOT is a decentralized oil operator in Canada and the US. Kim Carr managed an outsourced team for their accounting needs, but with multiple locations and a third party accounting firm demanding insight into their accounts payable, Carr needed to avoid the high cost and complexity that goes hand in hand with sharing PDFs and overnight packages across multiple people in a wide range or roles and locations. What AOT needed was a structured solution for a decentralized environment.
Carr scoured the internet, looking at her options as far as accounting and software resource sites. Beanworks offered a quick implementation and easy-to-use interface, or “well packaged and user friendly,” as Carr puts it. With cloud access, easy set up and advanced workflows for the team, Carr made the decision to choose Beanworks.
Beanworks impressed the team at AOT with our customer support throughout the process of implementing our AP automation solution. With very few meetings needed to get AOT up and running with Beanworks, and any questions addressed with lightning speed, the staff loved it!
“There is a known system, invoices are only in one place and nothing is lost. People don’t get stuck or lost in the process,” explains Carr. “Vendors also have really appreciated the increase in orderliness and timeliness.” AOT’s third party accounting team were able to decrease their processing times by 50%, which meant a measurable impact to their bottom line. Now, Carr has taken the role of Controller at Petro Shale, an oil-weighted development and production company operating in both Canada and the US. She was so impressed with her experience with Beanworks, she brought it over to Petro Shale.
