Business in Vancouver (BIV) has recognized Beanworks as the 8th fastest growing company in BC in its annual list of top 100 fastest growing firms. With this announcement, Beanworks joins the ranks of an outstanding group of dynamic businesses in Canada for the third time.
BIV is a news journal focusing on BC’s business community. Every year, the media house releases a list of top 100 companies based on revenue growth, income, and company size. Their latest survey is based on the 2015-2019 term where Beanworks’ revenue increased by almost 629%.
“We are incredibly fortunate to be in this position,” says Catherine Dahl, CEO at Beanworks. She credits her team’s dedication to its shared goal and company values for the tremendous growth in accounts payable (AP) automation over recent years. “At Beanworks, our people are the bedrock of the company. Our dedication to diversity, inclusion and internal promotion have played a strong role in our success in 2019.”
Founded in 2012 by four tech enthusiasts with a background in accounting, Beanworks is transforming the age-old accounting problems of manual, paper-based tasks by moving AP workflows into the cloud. Some significant milestones have been a partnership with Sage accounting, a market leader for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems. With this partnership, Beanworks became the official AP automation provider in North America for Sage.
Overall, the list solidifies BC’s stand in the North American market as an innovation hub. The province is home to one of the fastest growing tech ecosystems in the world, with Vancouver being the top city in North America for tech job growth. From clean drinking water for developing countries to accounts payable automation for financial executives, the BC tech landscape is producing incredibly innovative solutions for the world.
